Early last year we published for the first time our list of the most influential RegTech firms, the PlanetCompliance RegTech Top 100 List. From a pool that has grown to almost 500 firms, we calculate each week the Top 100 that are then listed on our website. It is probably the most important list of RegTechs and certainly the one that gets the most traffic.
The ranking in the past has been to a large extent depending on Social Media results, but we have always been seeking to further strengthen the existing methodology to generate an increasingly more accurate list including other aspects as well (for a more detailed description check out the list).
Don’t get us wrong: We still think it is a great concept and given the traffic and feedback we have received our audience seems to agree. However, we appreciate that social media is not all that matters. After all, we have already highlighted in a number of articles the various factors that contribute to the success of a company (e.g. The Obstacles of RegTech Adoption).
Therefore, we have created a new methodology upon which we will rate all participating RegTechs that further emphasises on the companies and their offerings in addition while also factoring in aspects like Social Media but to a lesser extent.
The new RegTech Top 100 List v2.0 will go live soon and one of the two reasons for this post is simply to make you aware of the changes that we are making.
The other, more important reason for sharing the news with you is that we would love to hear your thoughts, too, as we have always looked to involve stakeholders across the industry as much as possible.
