Financial Data Pioneer Named to 2019 Inspiring FinTech Females List

Luan Cox, co-founder and CEO of FinMkt, Inc. was named to NYC FinTech Women’s Inspiring Fintech Females 2019 list for her outstanding leadership and support of the community of women in the field. NYC FinTech Women serves over 3,000 members through mentorship, sponsorship, and networking opportunities and publishes their annual list to recognise the achievements of women in financial technology.

“It’s an honor to be among such a talented and successful group of fintech leaders,” Ms. Cox says. “I also hope the list serves as a reminder that inclusion is good for business and that it inspires more women to seek careers in financial technology.”

“Ms. Cox embodies the mission of NYC FinTech Women: to strengthen, empower, and sponsor women who are transforming the FinTech industry. We are recognizing her leadership and support of women and the community,” said Michelle Tran, Co-Founder of NYC FinTech Women.

Headquartered in New York City with offices in Atlanta, San Diego and Hyderabad, India, FinMkt operates a state-of-the-art multi-lender platform to facilitate direct to consumer and point of sale financing. Since its launch, FinMkt’s Gateway platform has processed over $7 billion in loan requests.

A pioneer in fintech before the word “fintech” existed, Ms. Cox was Executive Director of Partner Solutions for Quote.com in Silicon Valley during the early 1990s when few companies were leveraging technology in the financial sector. Quote.com was among the first to make stock quotes available via the internet, effectively revolutionising how financial data was accessed. Ms. Cox also served as the Founder and General Manager of Interactive Data’s Managed Solutions group for the Americas as well as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Stockpoint.

An alumna and advisor to the Springboard Accelerator program comprised of the world’s leading women-led media and technology companies and a Techstars mentor for its fintech accelerator, Ms. Cox knows firsthand the importance of mentorships. “No one becomes successful alone,” Ms. Cox says. “Mentoring programs like those hosted by NYC FinTech Women are not just valuable to women but to the industry itself.”
