Kompli-Global offers innovative products and services to help companies comply with anti-money laundering and associated laws. We help businesses make accurate, compliant decisions.

  1. How did you come up with the idea and what drives you?

Our founder –  John Davies is a serial entrepreneur. He realised in 2015 that financial institutions would find complying with the 4thMoney Laundering directive a challenge  and decided to develop software tools to enable them to overcome the difficulties of identifying where bad actors were trying to abuse the financial networks. The experienced team have helped to shape and refine the products.

  1. What is it that makes your company different from others?

Our services are unique – Kompli-Global has developed the world’s first networked, multi-jurisdictional, multi-lingual due diligence, search platform. We are transforming the financial crime and regulatory compliance space by combining cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, human expertise and effective processes. We  enable businesses to perform quick, thorough customer due diligence checks in an increasingly complex and regulated environment.

  1. Where are you based?

Our registered office and HQ is in London just off the historic Charterhouse Square. Our development team are based in Manchester and we have offices in Swansea in Wales where our team of UK based analysts work. In addition we have a network of 66 Compliance specialist offices around the world. These Compliance specialists help to make our products

July 2016

  1. What traction have you made? Can you tell us about your biggest achievements so far?

We have attracted a range of companies to use our services – financial institutions, gambling operators and law firms and accountancy firms. We are particularly pleased to have a partner who has a strong foothold in the financial market and provides an excellent distribution channel

  1. What advice could you give to other entrepreneurs and start-ups?

If possible distribute your products through partners who already have a foothold in the market. Selling directly to large financial institutions takes 12 – 18 months and can be frustrating as there are many departments to convince and often no-one with the requisite authority to agree a partnership

  1. What can you tell us about your team?

We are an experienced team with decades of experience in Finance, FinTech, RegTech and beyond. Passionate about what we do , we are making a difference in the AML world with Samantha, our Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot combined with human investigative research.

Our CEO, Jane Jee, has broad experience in card-based, e-money, internet and mobile payments, having worked in commercial and legal roles across the sector for over 30 years. Prior to joining Kompli-Global she was Managing Director at Access, the credit card issuing and acquiring organisation, a Director of Worldpay and later Divisional Manager at Mondex International. Jane teaches post-graduate students about regulatory developments and the increasing use of technology in the field of payments and compliance. She is a Fellow of the International Compliance Association and regularly speaks at AML legislation conferences on issues affecting financial institutions, regulated entities as well as the benefits of RegTech.

  1. What’s next for your company?

We are continually improving our software products and expanding our offering as new regulatory requirements come into force to defeat criminals who seek to find new ways to exploit financial systems.
